Loyola High School is a Jesuit school, founded in 1961. Incidentally, this year marks the Golden Jubilee year of the school.

The school educates boys from standard 1 to 12, and the medium of instruction is English. It is named after Saint Ignatius of Loyola. The school is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The course of studies includes Moral Instruction, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Science, History,

School classrooms are spacious and well ventilated, the library is a 2-floored well-stocked repository of books spanning a wide variety of topics, and science and computer labs are equipped with the latest equipment. The auditorium has a

full stage, complete with lighting, and balcony seating. Sports facilities include a 25-meter swimming pool, diving pool, children’s pool, basketball courts, volleyball court, football and hockey fields. The swimming pool complex was completed in 1971. When the school was formed, the area had no English medium schools for boys. So with little more than a dream, a lease land from the National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR) and a pocketful of generous donations, Fr. R. Schoch and his team set about building the school on hostile, hilly terrain. It was infested with snakes and scorpions, and used an approach road

that had been carved out for purposes of transporting stone from a nearby quarry. This road was later re-routed. The school will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee in the year 2010- 11. As a fitting memorial for this important milestone in the School's

history, the Mangement with school committee has decided to build a new School hall in Honour of Fr. R. Schoch, its Founder and Visionary.

The proposed hall will have a seating capacity of 1000. It will also have other facilities like badminton and table tennis courts etc.It will be one of the biggest school halls in Pune.
