Round Table India

About Round Table India

Round Table India (RTI) is an organization of non-political and non-sectarian young men between the age group of 18 and 40. The aim of the young men is to promote service, fellowship and goodwill in national and international affairs. Round Table India, the association, was formed in 1962 with just a membership of 100. It has, over the last 4 decades, grown to become a 2500 member strong association, individuals who can arise above personal concerns to seek and serve the larger needs of the community.

We have 175 chapters called ‘Tables’ located in 75 cities and towns of India, comprising of businessmen, entrepreneurs, technocrats and professionals. Currently Round Table International exists in 54 countries around the world with a total membership of around 38,000, providing limitless opportunities for members to travel and change their perspective on life, friendships, and service to community.

Service Through Fellowship

Services Through Fellowship is the lifeline of Round Table India. It is through the fellowship of young men that this organization has served the community for the last 45 years. Round Table India started its efforts in helping the community with small projects directed towards service. Over the years, we have grown from strength to strength and today we are building big projects and have moved over from community service to community development.

About Freedom Through Education

After nearly 60 years of independence, 50 million Indian children have never been to school. Illiteracy is a self-fuelling curse that perpetuates the chain of poverty, degradation and child labor. To reach out to this group of underprivileged children, we proposed in 1998 to provide basic infrastructure for primary education in rural India, reaching out to one million children. We believe that true freedom for an individual comes only through education. Keeping the millions of underprivileged children in mind, we declared our long-term national project as “Freedom Through Education (FTE)” to Build School Infrastructure for underprivileged children

School Building Model

UNDER THE FTE PROGRAM, our Members (called tablers) identify needy Schools for underprivileged that are operating from dilapidated or open structures; schools that have land available but little resources to take up big ticket expenditures like Construction. It is here that RTI steps in and builds School Blocks with Amenities across India to help such efforts and hands over newly constructed quality school Blocks to the school bodies. Within last 10 years RTI has constructed above 3600 Classrooms in 1200 Schools benefitting over 8 Lac children and many more in the years to come. That’s an average of ONE CLASSROOM EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS

Our Partnership with various State Governments, Corporates, and School Trusts

Round Table India’s Partnership with various State Governments & Corporates has really helped us in our endeavor to reach out to more children across the country. The support we have received from State Governments viz. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, etc. has taken ‘Freedom Through Education’ project to greater heights. Robust Tie-Ups with Corporates like P&G, Wipro, Infinity and many others too have allowed Education to make further inroads.

The P&G Shiksha tieup with RTI for Rs.5 Crores envisages schools worth Rs.15 Crores being built for underprivileged children in a span of 2 years… on a zero overhead model.

Zero Overhead Organization

Round Table India model of building infrastructure for needy schools is based on a Zero Overhead Model. Every Rupee Contributed is used entirely for purpose of construction of the Schools. The Members efforts and inputs towards all admin costs is borne entirely by Members themselves.
