Giridarshan's Jeevdhan Naneghat trek with fireflies experience on 9 June


Naneghat, an ancient traderoute used to connect sea ports to Junnar, the busy market place at that time, there is a cave at the top end of Naneghat, this cave has stone carvings in Bramhi script carved in 8 century, to inform about the Yadnya performed by Queen Nagnika, the ghat also has a huge stone vessel (Ranjan) supposadly to collect tax from the traders who used Naneghat for their business,
To protect this route there is a string of forts, Jeevdhan being the first in that string.
Today visiting Jeevdhan and Naneghat give us a pleasure experience, one can see a huge range of Sanhyadris, at both the sides, also veiwing Khadaparshi or Vanarlingi from Jeevdhan is a thrilling experience, checking for trees full of fireflies colonies is an added advantage for this season
We will start from Pune at 10 pm on 8 June by private bus from Law college road and reach Ghatghar village till midnight, we will search for fireflies enroute, on 9th we will have breakfast and start our trek, will reach Jeevdhan fort see it and climb down from other side, we will have lunch then visit Naneghat and Nanacha angtha hill, we will be back to Pune till 9 pm
You should bring bedding, extra dress, a plate, a bowl, a glass, a torch and 2 water bottles with you.
Wear trekking or sports shoes,and suncap.
