Feeling dizzy and weak six months after
giving birth, Zamzam Yousuf, 35, came into a clinic in the village of Habasweyn
in Somaliland run by the Edna Adan University Hospital. Her blood pressure was
extremely high. Yousuf was treated by student midwife Farduus Mubarak, 22,
under the watchful eye of the hospital’s founder, Edna Adan Ismail, 81.
