1936: Jesse Owens

Jesse Owens was a track and field legend, dubbed the "The Buckeye Bullet" after his home state of Ohio, who's still regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all time. During the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the African American star athlete won four gold medals and set three world records at the same time Adolf Hitler was hoping to bolster his theory of Aryan racial superiority.
