Sesame Street is now a real place.
Sesame Street has
been a beloved part of children's lives ever since it premiered on November 10,
1969. That's why, in May 2019, the city of New York made it a real place. So,
if you live in the city that never sleeps and someone asks you, "Can you
tell me how to get to Sesame Street?" you can tell them that it's at the corner
of West 63rd and Broadway.Smithsonian explains
the significance of that particular spot, saying, "Since 1969, the
non-profit Sesame Workshop, which produces the show, has been based on the
block between West 63rd and West 64th at Lincoln Center."
