Hong Kong protesters take their cause to airport arrivals

Protesters crowded into one of the world's busiest airports, greeting international visitors to Hong Kong with anti-government chants Friday in an effort to raise awareness of their pro-democracy movement.
More than 1,000 demonstrators dressed in black filled the arrival hall at Hong Kong International Airport, chanting, "There are no riots, there's only tyranny!"
For several weeks, Hong Kong residents have been protesting for democratic reforms and the withdrawal of an extradition bill that has now been suspended. Their demands include direct elections, the dissolution of the current legislature, and an investigation into alleged police brutality.

The Benefits of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine

With the increasing number of patients enlisted in the transplant list, the supply of healthy organs is quite limited. This is demonstrated in the graph below:

The graph signifies that the number of patients enlisted on the transplant waitlist far surpasses the donors. This is alarming as there are so many patients whose life depends upon a new and healthy organ but organs are not available to them.
However, a new and growing branch of science which is known as tissue engineering is developing to propose a solution to this problem. With the help of various techniques implemented in tissue engineering, patients can receive temporary grafts until a healthy organ is available to them.
The various techniques and material implemented in tissue engineering to synthesize new grafts include:
·         Stem cells or regenerative medicine
·         Polymer scaffolds
·         Reprogramming or regeneration of the iPS cells
·         Amniotic fluid or the placental stem cells
·         Adult stem cells
·         Xenogenic cells

Ukraine seizes Russian tanker, frees crew after Moscow threat

Ukraine on Thursday seized a Russian tanker for its alleged involvement in the capture of three Ukrainian navy vessels by Russia, prompting Moscow to warn of consequences if any Russian citizens were "taken hostage."

The crew members were later freed by Ukraine and were on their way home, but the tanker remained in Ukrainian custody in the Danube river port of Izmail, a spokesman for the Russian Embassy in Kiev said by telephone.

My current endeavour is to let go of excess baggage from life…..
I am working on inculcating good eating habits, regular meal times and regular sleep times
I am reworking my exercise schedule to include comprehensive workouts through the week…. Gym, Cardio, Yoga and Deep Breathing, Dance
I overhauled my wardrobe and donated lot of stuff that I had not touched for few years and I ditched a lot of stuff that I had not touched for many years!!!
I have cleaned all my mailboxes and junked uncountable files and folders that languished on the hard drives for ages.
I am also going to reflect in order to let go of any grudges that I may have cradled over the years in my mind’s storage space.
I believe this exercise will release lot of cache memory for me to explore newer things in life! And I am looking forward to it!!

South Korea, Russia, Japan and China warplanes face off in Asian confrontation

Warplanes from four countries faced off Tuesday in a chaotic and unprecedented confrontation above a small, disputed island off the coast of South Korea and Japan.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a statement claiming they had fired more than 300 warning shots at a Russian A-50 command and control military aircraft early Tuesday morning after it had twice violated the country's airspace, the first such incident between the countries.
Moscow furiously denied Seoul's account of the encounter, claiming that South Korean military jets had dangerously intercepted two of its bombers during a planned flight over neutral waters.

This Navy warship went down in World War II with 49 crew members aboard. Divers finally found it after 75 years

The USS Eagle PE-56 was supporting Navy training exercises off the coast of Maine when an explosion tore it in half in April 1945.
Only 13 people survived, and 49 officers and crew members went down with the ship.
For 75 years, no one knew exactly where the submarine hunter -- and its crew -- rested at the bottom of the ocean.
But in June 2018, a team of eight wreck divers working with the Smithsonian Channel finally located it about six miles from Maine's shore.
