Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Feel They Are Being 'Driven Out,' Says Friend: 'It's Sad'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are prepared to walk away from everything in royal life because they feel they have no choice, says their friend Tom Bradby.
Beyond tensions surrounding the media and a monarchy that is focusing on direct heirs Prince William, Prince Charles and Prince George, the rest of the reason behind the couple’s bombshell decision to step back from royal life “is just really bad personal  splits — that’s the honest truth,” said Bradby on a Thursday evening broadcast in the U.K. “There’ve been a lot of fallouts; a lot of harsh things were said around the time of the wedding. And it’s gone a bit too far. And certainly the rest of the family find Harry and Meghan very difficult and, from Harry and Meghan’s point of view, they’re just being driven out as they see it. And it’s sad.”

Marines have to be able to carry one another if necessary. USMC Cpl. Gabrielle Green hefts a fellow marine as they ready for deployment on a Navy ship at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Of the 38,000 recruits who enter the corps each year, about 3,500 are women—or, in USMC phrasing, “female marines.”

World's largest volunteer force fights Australia's wildfires

The wildfire was behaving erratically last week, and Doug Schutz and his team needed to make a quick decision. So they moved a bulldozer from another job and used it to widen a firebreak. That likely helped prevent hundreds of homes from going up in flames.

Fast Track Fried Rice
A relaxed Sunday and some "Indian" Chinese brunch is all I want!!
Imagine it is a lovely Sunday morning. Enjoying a steaming coffee with the Sunday papers and a rare soft breeze for company is like a blessing after two months of fire spitting scorches of the sun; I am watching from my balcony, the ever changing spatial vista of the sunbeams peeping from the clouds over the profiles of the high rise buildings on the far end.
Today being one of those rare Sundays when the morning is not brimming with activities to send the kids to, or with a ‘to do’ list of weekend chores; no event invites, no visitors expected and no weekend ‘work from home’!!

Boeing 737 Plane Crash in Iran Prompts Conflicting Statements

A Ukrainian airliner carrying at least 176 people crashed shortly after takeoff from Tehran on Wednesday, killing everyone on board. It was unclear what caused the disaster, but the aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, went down amid an escalating, violent conflict between the United States and Iran.
Early statements from both Ukraine and Iran about what happened to the flight bound for Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital were both confused and contradictory. Just hours earlier, Iran had fired missiles at two bases in Iraq that house United States troops, and Iranian forces were on alert for an American counter-strike.

Iran General’s Wake Brings Deadly Stampede and Calls for Revenge

Iran said it is evaluating 13 possible ways to inflict a “historic nightmare” on the U.S. for killing a powerful Iranian general, whose burial was postponed after dozens of mourners died in a stampede.
General Qassem Soleimani’s exploits in conflicts from Syria to Yemen made him a national hero, and hundreds of thousands have turned out this week as his funeral procession stopped in various cities, first in Iraq, where he was killed in a drone strike, and later Iran. But the masses that met the cortege ahead of his burial overwhelmed his southeastern hometown, leaving more than 50 dead and 213 injured, state TV reported.

How did Carlos Ghosn escape? Was former Nissan CEO stuffed in a musical instrument box?

The brazen escape of former Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has prompted speculation over how he pulled it off the getaway, which has turned him into an international fugitive.'

In a made-for-the-movies development, Ghosn fled house arrest in Japan by unknown means, flew on a private plane to Turkey and then on a separate private plane to Lebanon, where he has citizenship.
The former chairman of the global alliance between Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi has said he bolted Japan to escape "injustice" in the country's judicial system, where 99% of suspects are convicted of their alleged crimes. Interpol, the international police organization, has issued a wanted notice for his arrest.
