Also known as The Met, The Metropolitan Museum
of Art is an art museum located on the eastern edge of Central Park in New York
City. Originally opened in the year1872, this massive gothic-style building
holds hundreds of rooms on its two floors, containing more than two million
works of art from across human history, covering virtually every field of art
in existence. Apart from its permanent exhibitions, the Met organizes and hosts
large traveling shows throughout the year which makes it one of the most
visited destinations in New York City.
