I would like to invite you to meet Dr Shridhar Shukla, MD, GS Lab, on Wednesday, 25 Feb at 2.30 pm. The purpose would be to discuss 'Initiatives to help engineering students expand their horizons - augmenting their knowledge, placing challenges before them and providing industry insights'.
At GS Lab, we develop products and solve technology problems for IT companies around the world. Our customers include Fortune 100 companies as well as Silicon Valley based technology start ups. Working with this range of customers requires a great depth of technological expertise in software design, architecture and product development. We recruit the brightest talent from engineering colleges each year.
In this process, we have found that the current community of engineering students is extremely bright and eager for knowledge. However, they don't have sufficient opportunities to understand the work practices in the industry. At the same time, while the Engineering Colleges are very keen to provide the best possible education to their students, the curriculum often cannot reflect the latest technology. This is especially true because the technology landscape in our area of work is changing very, very rapidly.
