Cityblog Open Tennis Tournament Launched

February 25 : The first ever CityBlog Open Junior National Ranking and state ranking tennis tournament will be organized jointly by Deccan Gymkhana and the Om Dalvi Memorial Foundation at the Deccan Gymkhana tennis courts from February 28th to March 5 .


Speaking to reporters the tournament director Nitin Joshi , the trustee of Om Dalvi Memorial Umesh Dalvi and Chirag Dedia Director of City Blog said that the tournament will be a state ranking tournament in the Boys and Girls under 10 &12 events and Talent series and the Boys and Girls under 14 and 16 will be a talent series national ranking event. The tournament is being held under the auspices of the AITA and the MSLTA, they added.

Researchers from Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are the first to develop a curvilinear camera, much like the human eye, with the significant feature of a zoom capability, unlike the human eye.

The "eyeball camera" has a 3.5x optical zoom, takes sharp images, is inexpensive to make and is only the size of a nickel. (A higher zoom is possible with the technology.)

Ministers to help solve Pune's traffic MESS


PUNE: Minister of state for home Satej Patil and state home minister R R Patil will shortly meet the Pune traffic department to chalk out a permanent solution to the city's traffic problem.

Satej was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Maharashtra state road safety drive, at the rural police ground in Pashan. "Several places in the city face serious congestion problems, especially during peak hours. This has resulted in increased travel time. Aba (R R Patil) and I will meet the Pune traffic police to chalk out a permanent solution to this problem. We will meet in the next 15 days and deliberate on the issue," said Satej.

'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' to be released on Republic Day.


Realistic film maker Madhur Bhandarkar Saturday confirmed that the release date of his first comedy "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji" has been brought forward to Jan 26 from Jan 28.

"'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' - the film was slated for release on Fri, Jan 28, but Wed, Jan 26 is Republic Day, so film's release preponed by two days," the National Award winning director confirmed on micro-blogging site Twitter. "Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji" is about how life changes for three men with the entry of three women.

The movie stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shruti Hassan, Shraddha Das and Shazahn Padamsee. In the film, Ajay will be seen playing a man in his mid-30s going through a divorce, when a much younger girl comes into his life and he starts changing himself. Bhandarkar has earlier made serious women-oriented films like "Chandni Bar", "Page 3", "Corporate" and "Fashion".
