Nine of 24 lions are darted
and flown from Tembe and Mkuze game reserves in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, to
Mozambique in June 2018. The wild lions will be released into the Zambeze Delta
there. The move is the largest conservation transport of wild lions across an
international boundary in history. A hundred years ago, there were over 200,000
wild lions living in Africa.
