Fourteen-year-old
twins Sidra (at left) and Shahed remember the barrel bombs in Aleppo, Syria,
that forced them from their home in 2013. "We were happy to leave the
bombs and the warplanes," Sidra says. The sisters enrolled in Arabic-language
schools in Gaziantep and are now in Turkish schools. "From the moment we
were displaced," says their father, "I was determined that my
children would not stop school."
