Eldred Rock Lighthouse,
Alaska, USA
Sitting in the middle of the stormy waters of
Lynn Canal, Eldred Rock Lighthouse was created after a series of shipwrecks in
the late 1800s. The oldest Alaskan lighthouse that still stands, the
octagonal-framed, pyramid-roofed building was designed to withstand stormy
weather. Backdropped by snow-capped mountains, it’s a remarkable sight.
