Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Known as Mosi-oa-Tunya ("the smoke that thunders") in the local language, this thundering curtain of water on the Zambia and Zimbabwe border is classed as the largest waterfall in the world, based on its width. At a whopping 5,604-foot-wide (1,708m) and 354-foot-long (108m), it's a striking reminder of the power of nature. There’s also Devil's Pool, a little pocket of water on the edge of the abyss and a popular swimming spot for thrill-seekers.
