Great Star Coral
At the Flower Garden Banks National Marine
Sanctuary, Brown chromis (Chromis multilineata) and other reef fish are seen
swimming over great star coral (Montastraea cavernosa). The sanctuary,
which is offshore of Galveston, Texas, in the Gulf of Mexico, is one of the 14
national marine sanctuaries aprotected by NOAA's Office of National Marine
Sanctuaries.
