Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA
There's a good reason that a staggering 6.38 million people
visited this cavernous multicolored canyon in Arizona in 2018. The gaping chasm
is one of nature's truly epic sights. Carved out by the Colorado River over
millions of years, the Grand Canyon measures 277 miles (446km) in length and
reaches widths of up to 18 miles (29km) wide. With its cavernous size, the
rust-colored canyon boasts spectacular views across the desert landscape. The
South Rim is best known for its scenic lookouts.
