It has five buildings, three of ten stories each, and two of 11 stories, and is equipped with almost all modern amenities like gymnasium, swimming pool, library etc.

Kasturkunj is also very conscious of its responsibility towards the community and the environment. All residents are required to separate their dry and wet garbage. The wet garbage is processed in vermiculture pits and converted into useful organic fertiliser, which is then used within Kasturkunj. The society has recently implemented Rain Water Harvesting to conserve precious water. More such initiatives are planned to be carried out if future.

The society produces over 120 kg of wet garbage daily. Seven pits have been constructed for dumping the wet garbage on seven days of the week. It is converted into manure using a bio-sanitiser. The dry garbage is given to Swach volunteers

The idea of garbage disposal took a concrete form two years ago when the society decided that they would not dump waste from the society outside.
